HOW TO PARTY WITH PRIDE

Updated: Oct 17, 2021

BRING OUT THE RAINBOW!!!

Happy Pride Month everybody! I'm so glad you could join us for this special celebration of all things LGBTQ+ and everything in between! Now is the time to highlight and champion every colours of the rainbow! Without further ado, let me introduce you to all my top tips in creating a Pride Party that packs a punch!

1. CREATE A SELFIE ARCH

Everyone loves a selfie wall, it is now a requirement at any decent party! To satisfy this need, here's how to create a Pride arch very simply and cost-effectively.

Get a cheap garden arch online, this one was from Wayfair and just £29.99

Attach rainbow paper streamers all around the top, then dress the top left corner (for a striking asymmetrical look) with overlapped stripy paper fans.

To finish, dress the edges with some colourful artificial flowers, leaves, or even dried flowers.

TOP TIP: Use colourful pampas grasses (their feather-like quality adds a huge amount of drama!)

Add a throne in front of it (cause every queen needs a throne!), use whatever you have, I used my peacock chair but you could bring out an indoor armchair just for fun!

Because who doesn't love a selfie arch!

2. RAINBOW BUFFET TABLE

- Create a striking buffet table! Dress it with a colourful table cloth, and pin a Progress Flag on the front.

- Prepare rainbow sandwiches using different coloured spreads (guacamole, beetroot humous, sweet potato, etc).

- Make multi-coloured fruits skewers (kiwi, pineapple, strawberries) and prick them in a carved watermelon, place on top of a cake stand and voila!

Using Progress Flag is encouraged as it highlights extra support

to the trans community and LGBTQ+ communities of colour

3. DRINK OF CHOICE

Create a fancy cocktail, it will make your guests feel special and create something memorable.

I've gone for this super cool Sunset Margarita, that changes colour when you pour it on the ice! Find recipe here.

Shake the cocktail in front of your guests for a bit of a performance. Use fun glass like those fun disco ball glasses.

4. RAINBOW FLOWER DISPLAY

Final touch, flowers! Because why not go the extra mile and create that extra wow factor for not much money and very little effort. Create a show-stopper flower display in the 6 colours of the rainbow.

What you will need:

- 6 clear glass vases

- 6 shades of water soluble paint or ink (watercolour, food colouring, etc)

- 6 bunches of flowers

4. DRESS UP!!!

Pride is always the best time to let go off your inhibitions and just be free, time to embrace gender fluidity and increase the hue saturation to the maximum! pull out the makeup palettes, wigs, coloured hair sprays, and anything shiny, glittery is highly reccommended!

Dress up your pet while you're at it!

Here I simply used a £5.99 pride flag from Amazon,

so silky and soft, he didn't mind it at all.

If you're short in time, this super fun rainbow faceprint fan brush from GAY PRIDE SHOP is the quickest and easiest way to an instant rainbow kiss on each cheek, all for a mere £4 !!!

5. PRIDE PLAYLIST

Make sure you've got all those PRIDE ANTHEMS bangers at the ready to get your party rocking from day into night! Madonna, Kylie, Cher and all the other Gay divas in between!!!

Here's one I made earlier SPOTIFY PLAYLIST - PRIDE ANTHEMS

HAVE A GO!!!

I can't wait to see all your creations cropping up
